How do I go about Commissioning a Cube?
Easy - follow these 6 Easy Steps (see what others have said about our Cubes)
The process of commissioning a design for a Cube is very easy, whether you are across the country, in another country or just can't make into our shop.
Step 1 ~ Contact us and tell us you want to commission a Cube. We can be contacted by fax, email, phone or snail mail. You can email us at ask@milestonecube.com. Telephone/Fax:

Step 2 ~ We will discuss with you more about what "event" the Cube will be for ~ (i.e. Best friend gift, baby announcement/gift, wedding, special I'm thinking of you, any other special occasion or even if you just want to send someone a Cube just because.) It is during this discussion where we get a better idea of your tastes, the recipient's taste, important items you want included in the design, whether you want to include pictures or other artwork or the any number of our other techniques - gems, special foils, wood inlays etc. At this point you will be given additional information about the pricing of your Cube.
Pricing of our personal Cubes --- The base price of a Cube is $65.00 and that includes a photo. Each additional photo is $5.00. Special inlays (wood, mother of pearl etc) are extra and need to be quoted.
Step 3 ~ We will then start working up a design based upon the conversation(s) and input from you. (This typically takes about 1 week from the initial consultation). If you want to add photos the process is easy too - either you can mail them to us (we return them to you) or you can email them to us. Send scanned photos with a resolution (DPI) at 300 dots per square inch and .jpg format via email. It can be either color or black and white. The typical photo sizes we can use are up to 8.5x11 inches - just let us know what is the area you would like us to focus on. We can crop as needed.
Step 4 ~ We will send to you, via email, fax or snail mail, a design sheet of which will show what we have designed on each of the 5 sides of your Cube. This Proof Sheet is very important as it is from this sheet you can make alterations, additions etc. If there are no changes, simply sign and return. This is the part that takes the longest as it is common for some of our customers to want a few days to look over the design.
Step 5 ~ Once we get the okay on the design, we set up your Cube for engraving. We hand pick each Cube for the best possible match to the design. The actual engraving and final hand polishing takes a day.
Step 6 ~ We ship your Cube to you or to another address. Or for around Cumberland we will gladly hand deliver your Cube or you can pick it up at our shop at 28 North Centre Street.
